Thomson Reuters’ Technology Centre is expected to secure upwards of 400 technology jobs in Canada over the next two years, with eventual plans to grow to approximately 1,500 jobs. The hire of Mr. Malhotra helps establish veteran leadership at the group, who will be responsible for fostering the centre’s focus on emerging skills, computing, visualization, user experience, and cloud development.
Mr. Malhotra joins Thomson Reuters from Intel, having worked previously as a Director, Software Engineering and Site Director for the group’s own Technology Centre in Toronto, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
Stewart Beaumont, Chief Technology Officer of Thomson Reuters, commented: “We are thrilled that Shawn has joined our growing team on the ground in Canada. Shawn has a proven track record of delivering results for customers, and his deep roots in the Toronto-Waterloo innovation community will be a valuable asset as Thomson Reuters expands its presence in the region.”
