Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a global financial services firm, has expanded its fixed income middle markets sales and trading team with twin appointments of Kevin Bowen and David Ballard as Senior Vice Presidents (SVP), according to a Cantor Fitzgerald statement.

Both men join Cantor Fitzgerald from BBVA Compass, having been based out of Birmingham, where they focused on a number of sectors including financial institutions, healthcare, and government.

In particular, Mr. Bowen worked as the SVP of Financial Risk Management Group as well as a number of roles, including at President of Institutional Investment Sales, and Investment Officer of BBVA Compass.

Conversely, Mr. Ballard joins Cantor from BBVA in a similar role, having also garnered experience as its Vice President of Institutional Investment Sales as well.

According to Shawn P. Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. in a recent statement on the appointments, "We remain deeply committed to strategically growing our distribution platform by investing in senior talent across fixed income and equity sales, trading and research."

"I anticipate that Kevin and David's long-standing relationships and extensive experience in interest rate risk management will make an immediate impact to the firm and help to serve our clients. Their expertise and knowledge in balance sheet and investment portfolio management will be particularly beneficial to clients with exposure to interest rate risk," he added.

"We are proud to be a part of Cantor Fitzgerald's growing franchise, and look forward to helping our clients identify and manage risk exposure. Identifying interest rate risk is a key component to successful portfolio management, and we look forward to assisting clients manage their risk exposure," noted both Mr. Bowen and Mr. Ballard in a joint statement.

Cantor Fitzgerald has been relatively muted on the personnel front lately, with its last string of hires coming earlier this year. Back in March, the group augmented its Emerging Markets Debt Capital Markets (DCM) sales and trading team with a trifecta of appointments.
