IHS Markit announced the appointments of three key strategic hires to its global FX team last week. Randy Hebert joined the company as Director of FX Business Development in APAC to help further drive IHS Markit’s rapidly expanding offering within the region. IHS also on-boarded Stuart Crooks as its Director of FX Business Development in EMEA and Steven Singh as Product Development Manager of FX Trading.
Deutsche Bank’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) has continued hiring despite a wider industry contraction. Per its latest addition, Meir Lewis joined the FIG as Managing Director and Head of Insurance Investment Banking. In his new role Mr. Lewis will be based out of New York, reporting to Celeste Guth, Deutsche Bank’s Co-Head of Global FIG.

OpenFin appointed a new member to its board of directors – former Goldman Sachs executive Paul Walker. Following the addition of Mr. Walker, the startup technology provider will boast a seven-person strong board, staffed entirely by leading thought leaders from around the financial services industry. Mr. Walker joined six other leading industry leaders: Samuel Cole, former COO of BlueMountain Capital; Matt Harris of Bain Capital Ventures; Dinkar Jetley, Pivot Investment Partners; Dirk Manelski, J.P. Morgan; Michael McFadgen, Euclid Opportunities; and Thomas Miglis, Nyca Partners.
IS Prime continued bringing in veteran hires and industry specialists to its recently launched Hong Kong office, now with the addition of Crystal Ho as its Vice President Sales – North Asia. Her appointment at IS Prime Hong Kong will help the group continue to grow its operations following its opening earlier this year. In the new role Ho will be working in tandem with another recent addition to IS Prime Hong Kong’s team, Sue Cheung, who holds a similar role.
Jiang Guorong and Alison Harding-Jones, Citigroup
Citigroup added two senior bankers from UBS AG, appointing Jiang Guorong and Alison Harding-Jones to new lead roles. Jiang joined Citigroup as its newest Chairman and head of the group’s China Corporate and Investment Banking, one of its highest growth segments. Meanwhile, Alison Harding-Jones will be installed as its new Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) – M&A and Vice-Chairman of EMEA Corporate and Investment Banking.

AxiTrader made a new senior hire to its London team last week, securing the services of longtime veteran of the financial services industry, Paul Kiff. Kiff joined AxiTrader as its newest Global Head of Trading following a career that’s spanned over three decades in the industry. The latest hire coincided with AxiTrader launching multiple initiatives across key regions globally, as well as an expansion of its product portfolio.

Avem Capital on-boarded Kate Leaman as its Head of Global Markets. In her new role Ms. Leaman will lead the group’s new broadcasting studio in Gherkin. Avem’s new broadcasting studio is slated to open July 2017, and will be based out in Saint Mary Axe, London.

Bryan Seegers, the former ADS Securities executive, stepped into a new senior role at Jefferies. He joined the group as its Senior Vice President (SVP), Quant Relationship Management. Mr. Seegers will be focusing on the group’s eFX algo offering, reporting to Ray Kamrath, Global Head of FX at Jefferies. He will be based out of New York.
