AstroPay, the international payments provider, has announced that it will maintain its principal partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (Wolves) into the 2023/24 Premier League season.

AstroPay and Wolves Continue Cooperation

According to the press release, the partnership, which began in August 2021, has seen AstroPay rise to the top tier of club sponsors in the 2022/2023 campaign. The company's collaboration with Wolves has been marked by a series of fan-focused initiatives over the last two seasons. These have included various prize giveaways and unique fan experiences.

In Spring 2023, AstroPay presented the Wolves debit card. This new feature has allowed fans to receive cashback on purchases made in the club store, in addition to other rewards and bonuses. As part of the ongoing partnership, AstroPay will further embed its services within the club, allowing fans to use AstroPay at the checkout of Wolves' online store.

AstroPay's branding will remain a central feature on Wolves' attire in the coming season, featuring on the front of the men's, women's, and under-23 teams' kits. The branding will also adorn a full range of replica kits across all age groups, symbolizing the enduring partnership.

"Our enduring partnership with this club has solidified us as an integral part of the Wolves family. With an impressive track record of 13 major trophies, this collaboration aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, particularly in expanding our presence in the European market," Carolina Gama, the VP of Marketing at AstroPay, commented.

Russell Jones, the General Manager for Marketing and Commercial Growth at Wolves, also shared his excitement about the partnership's extension. "We are thrilled to have AstroPay as part of the pack once again for the 23/24 season," Jones commented.

In addition, Jones mentioned that the club will continue to collaborate with AstroPay to provide prizes and experiences for their dedicated fanbase in the upcoming season. on top of that, he hinted at the introduction of new AstroPay products.

In the past, Wolves have collaborated with other financial firms. In 2018, crypto exchange CoinDeal got its logo on the match kit, while retail broker Trade Nation became the club’s official FX trading partner.

Financial Firms Promote Through Sport

Football is incredibly popular among FX/CFD brokers and financial firms, allowing them to promote brand awareness among a wide audience. Last week, Plus500 also extended its sponsorship agreement with the Swiss football club, BSC Young Boys, for two more seasons.

Meanwhile, in May, Axi (formerly Axi-Trader), an Australian retail broker, entered into an agreement with the Brazilian sports club, Esporte Club Bahia. The firm aims to expand its presence in the Latin American markets through this sponsorship.

In contrast, the April agreement of RoboMarkets with BMW M Motorsport shows that brokers are not limited to football sponsorship deals only. The company extended its cooperation, which has been ongoing since 2019, for the DTM 2023 Season.
