Professional charting and trading platform TradingView has appointed Pierce Crosby to the role of its General Manager for Americas. Crosby will also focus on fueling TradingView’s expansion into Europe and Asia. He joins the company from StockTwits, the New York-based social trading network which operates a Twitter-like service for traders and investors. Most recently, Crosby served as StockTwits’ director of business development and operations, part of a five-year tenure dating back to 2014.

Prior to StockTwits, he was the head of research for Reuters Breakingviews, the financial column for Thomson Reuters. Pierce holds a master degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California. According to his Linkedin profile, he also mentors early-stage companies in the US and UK.

“Pierce understands global sales, go-to-market strategy, and customer satisfaction in a way that few in the investing space can hope to, and he’s got a proven track record of executing on that,” said Denis Globa, founder and CEO of TradingView.
