Professional charting and trading platform TradingView has appointed Pierce Crosby to the role of its General Manager for Americas. In his new job, Crosby will lead the group’s revenue and business operations in the region, including enterprise services, customer services, marketing events, and sales.
Crosby will also focus on fueling TradingView’s expansion into Europe and Asia. He joins the company from StockTwits, the New York-based social trading network which operates a Twitter-like service for traders and investors. Most recently, Crosby served as StockTwits’ director of business development and operations, part of a five-year tenure dating back to 2014.
Prior to StockTwits, he was the head of research for Reuters Breakingviews, the financial column for Thomson Reuters. Pierce holds a master degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California. According to his Linkedin profile, he also mentors early-stage companies in the US and UK.

“Pierce understands global sales, go-to-market strategy, and customer satisfaction in a way that few in the investing space can hope to, and he’s got a proven track record of executing on that,” said Denis Globa, founder and CEO of TradingView.
A unique approach to retail investing
TradingView is a data-driven investor community which offers a comprehensive charting tool. The company’s approach differs from other social trading networks because it is chart based with an emphasis on visuals to support investing and provide communal space to view and share trading ideas.
TradingView also has a web-store where users can purchase access to third-party tools. The company’s solution had already been rising in popularity in recent years as it has successfully marketed itself as a provider of smooth HTML5 charts that encompass a diverse set of asset classes – it’s also one of the largest social networks for traders presently.
Commenting on his appointment, Pierce Crosby said: “With the development and acquisition of new technologies like TradeIT, TradingView team is well positioned to provide trading solutions to the ever-improving US market. Today, having out of the box solutions isn’t enough to address the fragmented trading technology space, and TradingView’s ability to work alongside partners to build better products really differentiates what they are doing for the industry.”
