TradeStation Forex launch - an interview

Following Tradestation Forex 's launch I thought it would be interesting to ask TradeStation several questions regarding this launch. Below is the result of a very short interview:

Why are you entering this market and why now?

The reason for entering the US market now is precisely the reason others may be looking to leave it. We believe it is in the first phase of large scale consolidation. Where only larger better capitalized players will be able to succeed. When examining the group of established firms that make up this sector, we believe TradeStation can compete very effectively with this group.

The US market is very crowded and is undergoing major consolidation and many brokers have actually opted out. Do I assume correctly that your major focus is going to be on the US market? If so, what is your edge in it?

Our major focus initially will be in the US market where we believe we can benefit from the large consolidation presently taking place. Our edge in this market is the power of the TradeStation platform overlaid with great pricing and no fees.

You mention aggressive marketing, can you elaborate how and using what channels will you market and how will you stand out?

We will be marketing TradeStation Forex through forex specialty sites, general trading sites frequented by forex traders, email, TV advertising, educational programs and content on TradeStation.com.

What platforms will you be offering? Will you be offering MT4?

We will only be offering the TradeStation platform. We believe that by way of comparison to MT4, we beat it in terms of pricing functionality and scalability.

Will you be a market maker, agency, STP? If not the former, who are going to be your LPs?

We work under an agency model with Liquidity provided by 9 well known interbank counterparts.
