Darryl Hooker, a business consultant with a focus on the foreign exchange (Forex ) industry, has a new position. According to a report from FX Week, Hooker is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Harperdan Consulting.

Based in London, Hooker has had a career in the FX industry spanning across four decades and five continents. Harperdan Consulting offers forex consulting services, according to the news outlet.

The firm specializes in emerging markets, disruptive sales, and marketing strategies and education around the FX Global Code of Conduct .

“I have been fortunate enough to lead and work in teams of exceptional individuals, my key highlights being the development of the OTC spot Rouble market, the establishment of EBS as the primary venue for spot CNH globally as well as significantly elevating the Asian NDF product & revenues,” Hooker says on his LinkedIn profile.

Darryl Hooker’s Career in FX Before Harperdan Consulting

Before he was at Harperdan Consulting, Hooker was the Global Head of Spot FX and Precious Metals and Head of FX EMEA for NEX Markets (formerly EBS/ICAP). Previously, he was co-head of EBS Brokertec Markets. He was employed with the firm for more than 18 years, from January of 2000 until April of 2018.

In addition to his experience with NEX Markets, Hooker is also a member of the GFXC. According to his LinkedIn, he was part of the MPG that helped construct the Global FX Code of Conduct. He is also co-chairing the Disclosures and Transparency WG.

As indicated via his LinkedIn profile, Hooker commenced his career in 1990 at M.W. Marshalls where he was a Managing Director for New Zealand. Here he worked for three years.

After a four-year undisclosed break, Hooker then went on to Reuters in 1997, to be a Business Development Manager. He worked he for three years, leaving for EBS in 2000.
