FairFX, a UK-based, multi-currency Payments service, has inked a two-year agreement with Leicester City Football Club (LCFC) to be their exclusive foreign Exchange (FX) provider and an Official Partner of the Club, according to a company statement.

The new partnership between FairFX and LCFC looks to be a symbiotic relationship for both parties – LCFC, the Premier League champions, will have FairFX’s service satisfy its foreign exchange requirements, including money conversion for player transfers. This is an instrumental function to have handled, given that the scope of transfer values in the Premier League represents a significant volume of new potential business for FairFX.

Mutual Benefits

By extension, LCFC will also yield benefits from FairFX’s competitive offered rates, which will help streamline the transfer activity when dealing with large sums of currencies. The partnership also will see FairFX capture a large swath of exposure via the club’s fans as well as multiple appearances within the corporate network of Leicester City.

This could prove to be instrumental for FairFX’s growth as it would help allow FairFX to add more users to its product suite, which builds on the efforts of its existing marketing campaign. The new partnership also represents the first sponsorship deal for the company since its relationship with Sky Formula 1 coverage back in 2015.

According to FairFX CEO Ian Strafford-Taylor in a recent statement on the agreement: “We are very excited to be partnering with Leicester City. There are strong synergies in attitude between us both, with the Club having taken on the establishment in the Premier League, and winning, with FairFX continuing to do the same in the Foreign Exchange industry."

“While the agreement opens up new revenue streams via player transfers, we are also hugely excited by the prospect of offering our highly competitive and technologically innovative services to potential new customers across the LCFC fan-base and corporate network,” he added.

“We are delighted to welcome FairFX to our family of Club partners. FairFX was the obvious choice of FX provider to support Leicester City through the next stage of our phenomenal international growth. As a challenger in their own industry, they understand the level of support we require to add value to our processes and we look forward to a long and successful partnership together,” explained LCFC Commercial Director, Ian Flanagan, in an accompanying statement.
