MEX Exchange, the institutional trading platform owned by MultiBank Group, named Brian Liedberg as chief revenue officer and global head of sales today (Monday). He is the sixth senior appointment announced in two weeks, and the only one brought in from outside.

MultiBank launched MEX Exchange in May 2024 as an electronic communications network for banks and institutions in the BRICS and Gulf markets, a client base it says the established venues have overlooked.

It quotes spot foreign exchange, precious metals and commodities, and Liedberg now takes charge of selling it.

MultiBank says it handles more than $35 billion in daily trading volume for over 2 million clients, up from the $25 billion it cited in early 2025, when it added Dubai and Abu Dhabi share CFDs to MetaTrader 5. Both are MultiBank's own figures, and MEX Exchange has published none of its own.

Six Appointments, One Outside Hire

The run started on August 31, when Brian Andreyko, previously chief product officer, took over as chief executive from David Ogg, who became vice chairman.

Two days later came three promotions: Jeremy Pearce to chief operating officer for the Middle East, Africa and Asia, Beth White to the same role for the Americas and Europe, and James Longo to chief technology officer.

Andreyko said in the announcement that Liedberg's "understanding of the institutional trading landscape will be valuable" as MEX Exchange develops.

Institutional Firms Keep Buying Commercial Leadership

Qubealgo, a London software company selling execution tools to banks, hired Standard Chartered's Mark Reeves as head of sales on August 11.

Two days after that, crypto market maker B2C2 took on Schroders' former Asia wealth boss to chase family office business.

Qubealgo sells development tools and B2C2 makes markets in crypto. MEX Exchange runs the venue itself, and MultiBank opened a US office for it in February 2023.

Two TradAir Alumni in the Same Building

Liedberg was head of global sales and chief revenue officer at TradAir, according to MEX Exchange, and stayed through ION Group's purchase of the vendor in January 2021.

TradAir paired its trading stack with digital asset exchange BlockQuake in January 2022, an announcement in which Liedberg appeared under a different title, chief business officer. Ogg held that same title at TradAir.

Ogg founded HotspotFX in 1999 and joined MultiBank in early 2023. MEX Exchange lists earlier roles for Liedberg at Integral, Enigma Securities, Ingenium and Celer Technologies.

MultiBank has kept widening the structure around it. It said in 2025 that a separate unit, MEX Orient, would enter 14 countries within three years.
