GFT just launched an iPad version of its Trading Platform and visually it looks great. As a matter of fact most of platforms look great on iPad simply because it has a much bigger screen than a smartphone allowing more flexibility and better design.

Less than a year ago we reviewed Forex Club's iPad platform (based on the ActForex platform) which was visually stunning. I personally believe that tablets are much better trading tools than smartphones because of their bigger screens. The problem on the other hand is that most tablets are connected to the internet only through WiFi and thus cannot be yet used as mobile trading platforms on the go. It seems brokers would need to always offer both a smartphone version and a tablet version of their platform until traders decide which is their preferred trading method. It's interesting to note that nobody in the Forex market offers tablet trading on Samsung Galaxy or the Blackberry tablet.

Also interesting to note that GFT use the GFT Markets branding in this PR - possibly the beginning of their rebranding from GFT or GFT Forex to GFT Markets signalling that GFT is no longer just a forex broker.

GFT Markets, a worldwide leader in forex released an iPad version of its award-winning DealBook® trading platform. The free app, “DealBook® for iPad,” is part of a complete suite of trading products including DealBook® 360, DealBook® WEB, and DealBook® Mobile.

DealBook® for iPad features full-screen charting which allows traders to expand the chart, access drawing tools, add indicators and set alarms. Traders also have the ability to view real-time quotes in one of three views. Qualified customers can watch real-time news via CNBC TV streaming video.

Here is some early feedback from the iTunes® App Store:

“A gorgeous FX platform that allows you to draw/save your own line indicators…for the iPad! Thank you…Been holding out to open a new account with them. ” (sic)

“This App is quite useful when on the go.”

DealBook® for iPad is based on the DealBook® trading platform which has won numerous awards including Best Online Trading Platform in the Shares Awards 2011, MoneyAM Best Online Overseas Trading Platform 2010, and MoneyAM Best Online charts - DealBook® WEB 2009.
