Citi Taps Murray Roos as Global Head of Sales

Citi (NYSE:C) has appointed Murray Roos as its newest Global Head of Sales for both its Equities and Prime Finance

In his newest role as the global head of sales, Mr. Roos will be tasked with developing and leading a comprehensive sales strategy across the full cascade of equity and prime finance products to Citi’s clientele.

He will be based out of London where he will be reporting to Derek Bandeen, Global Head of Equities, Okan Pekin, Global Head of Investor Services and Jim O’Donnell, Global Head of Investor Sales. Moreover, Mr. Roos’ new appointment will see him added to Citi’s Investor Services Global Management team.

Mr. Roos joins Citi from Deutsche Bank, where he served in a number of senior level roles including Global Co-Head of Prime Finance and Co-Head of European Equities. Additional stops include UBS, among others, part of lengthy career in the financial services industry spanning 18 years, according to a report from Hedgeweek.

According to Mr. Bandeen in a recent statement on the appointment, “This hire reflects Citi’s commitment to attracting the industry’s top talent as well as our focus on growing Citi’s equities franchise through a close partnership with our Investor Service colleagues. We are delighted to welcome Murray to the team.”

“The addition of Murray is of strategic importance to our businesses as we continuously strive to integrate our offering across Citi’s Markets franchise. We are confident that Murray’s extensive industry experience will drive growth and further enhance our ability to serve our clients across the full spectrum of equities and prime finance products and solutions,” added Mr. Pekin in an accompanying statement.
