PrimeXM’s Partnership with Azul Zing Yields Lower XCore Latency
- A multiyear partnership continues to yield mutual benefits for both groups and the optimization of XCore.
The push for low latency across the financial services industry has reached a new level of Connectivity Connectivity Connectivity is defined as a term used for connecting devices to each other. In most cases, this refers to computer networking and more specifically includes bridges, routers, switches, gateways, and service as well as local networks. Connectivity can refer to simple forms, such as connecting a home or office to the internet or even connecting a digital camera to a computer or printer. This includes an ongoing partnership between PrimeXM and Azul Systems that has worked to foster ultra-low latency processing of financial transactions, harnessing PrimeXM’s proprietary order routing service, the XCore.
Venues across the financial industry continue to demand lower latency services and order routing solutions. Indeed, many groups opting to integrate with global hubs or premier technology services reflect the demand for reliable and high performance trading environments.

The past two years have seen PrimeXM work with Java runtime solutions specialist, Azul Systems – the nature of the partnership has been the optimization of PrimeXM’s XCore, through the integration of Azul Zing. Zing constitutes an advanced Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that has already garnered extensive traction across the industry.
The selection of Azul Zing has represented a key stroke for PrimeXM, which has consistently pushed for lower latency environments and optimized performance capabilities since its inception seven years ago. PrimeXM CEO, Cristian Vlasceanu, commented on the ongoing accord: “Using Azul’s Zing JVM as a technology foundation has allowed us to deliver consistent ultra-low latency performance on the XCore, our multi-tiered aggregation and Execution Execution Execution is the process during which a client submits an order to the brokerage, which consequently executes it resulting in an open position in a given asset. The execution of the order occurs only when it is filled. There is typically a time delay between the placement of the order and the execution which is called latency. In the retail FX space, reliable brokers always strive to deliver best execution to their clients in order to maintain a solid business relationship with them. Zing has been leaned on heavily by other venues for its ability to curb many of the performance shortcomings of legacy Java runtimes. Consequently, this capability enables groups like PrimeXM to deliver consistently lower latencies for its respective customer base. In parallel, PrimeXM has already moved to expand its client base in 2017 through the deployment of new regional websites and offices.
“Predictable, consistent low-latency Java performance is the hallmark of Zing. We’re honored to be integrated in PrimeXM’s XCore infrastructure and help them achieve their goals of the industry’s most reliable, stable and high performance connectivity solution,” explained Scott Sellers, Azul Systems President and CEO.
The symbiotic nature of the partnership was also echoed by George Swann, PrimeXM Global Head of Networks, who noted: “Our collaboration with Azul these past few years has been more than successful. Our collective know-how and expertise have led to significant improvements for both PrimeXM and Azul. With Azul’s Zing we have noted a significant improvement in the performance of our system, while our collaboration has also allowed Azul to continuously optimise the low latency performance of their Zing JVM.”
