myfxbook no longer supports Oanda accounts

myfxbook no longer supports Oanda accounts

Unfortunately for the large crowd of Oanda clients myfxbook, the popular Forex statistics network, will no longer support their accounts. Currensee however continues to support Oanda's accounts and is probably the only network doing so for now.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends how you view things) Oanda's core platform is not MT4 therefore plugging in to it requires some workaround just like with any other proprietary platform. I believe Oanda will work hard to fix this issue sooner than later.

This is what myfxbook had to say:

Guys, we’ve been waiting patiently for about a year now to receive an API from Oanda which will allow us to solve the expiring connection issue and remove any existing errors. Unfortunately, we haven’t received it and we’ve also been notified by Oanda that the current method we use to connect to Oanda accounts will stop working on January 31st (due to changes on their side).

We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you, but there’s nothing we can do at this point. Myfxbook will no longer support Oanda accounts starting from January 31stץ

There is no time frame on when they will complete the API, so any questions regarding this topic, please ask Oanda directly.

Thank you, The Myfxbook team.

This is what Oanda had to say:

In an effort to give our clients full control of their accounts and data, we are currently working on introducing a new API. The original fxTrade API is considered the best in the industry. This new API was created for users (fxTrade and fxTrade Practice) who wish to securely and efficiently connect with third parties while also specifying who and what types of access you choose to provide (read only, trade enabled, etc.)

OANDA recognizes the need to share trading information with various levels of access and once this is new API is launched you will see increased access to OANDA accounts with most third party sites of interest, including myfxbook and without any fees associated with these particular API connections.

We hope your find that this new API functionality is worth the wait and apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
