It seems that South Korea is now a major focus for large US Forex brokers who battle between themselves to offer margin FX partnerships to local financial institutions. Up until a year ago Korean market was fully controlled by FXCM (pricing and IBs) however lately the situation significantly changed. Moreover, Korean officials announced plans to crack down on the unregulated forex brokers and to decrease offered leverage from 1:50 to 1:20 (similar to Japan's situation).
Latest conquest is by Interbank FX who scored a deal with Solomon Investment and Securities and, according to the PR, is going to be the first one to offer Metatrader 4 to Korean clients. Interbank FX prides itself with a very innovative MT4 platform and is one of the leading MT4 brokers in the world (other 'hardcore' Mt4 brokers are Alpari, FXDD and FXOpen). Indeed, the other entrants in the Korean market were Oanda, Gain and Advanced Markets with their own proprietary platforms which differ very much from the popular MT4.
Interbank FX has also recently introduced its own MT4 bridge to the market and it is probably a part of this deal as well.
