ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has opened up new Internet domain names allowing anyone to buy generic domains such as .forex and others.
IG Group was the most active broker by applying for no less than 7 domains:

Costs of this service are substantial: it costs $175k to register one domain and then $25k a year to maintain it.
It’s a big question whether the SEO value of these domains is really worth $1.225m for IG but it does attest to IG’s marketing ambition.

a .me address would have probably been just as effective and more cost effective. but i could understand more vanity-like domain names ending in .forex or .futures
