Exness has inked a followup to the massive deal with Real Madrid announced earlier this week. The company has added football star Cristiano Ronaldo to its list of sports sponsorship deals. Previously, Exness sponsored Red Bull racing in Formula 1.

The brokerage obtained FCA authorization last year, vowing to launch B2B services. In June 2017 the company committed to launching its offering via the UK-regulated subsidiary Exness Europe Limited after expanding its UK license.

The brokerage has obtained the full IFPRU €730,000 license. Previously, the firm held a matched principal license, which set limitations on the handling of order flow. The company can trade with its clients as principal without any limitations after acquiring the new license

Football Sponsorships Still Popular

The deals with Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo are looking to be at the start of a new effort by the firm to attract new clients. Football sponsorships have been associated with substantial investments in previous years.

The new sponsorship announcement creates an interesting rivalry between brokers on the football field. Plus500 is sponsoring the other major club in the Spanish capital, Atletico Madrid. The company spent several million to become the football club’s main sponsor over a couple of years.

Commenting on the deal with Ronaldo, CEO Peter Valov, said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is what can only be called a living football legend, with an astounding track record as a football player and a celebrated reputation for breaking records.”

“It's an honour to partner with an international company that gives back to the world not only in offering the highest quality of services but also in fostering a socially conscious culture,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in an official statement.
