Capital Investment Brokers Limited (CIBfx) has struck a sponsorship deal with legendary footballer Ian Rush, OBE. Per the new accord, the former Liverpool FC player will become CIBfx’s newest spokesperson for traders and clients in the foreign exchange (FX) and contracts-for-difference (CFDs) space.
The sponsorship deal is the latest example of retail brokerages inking accords with sports teams and leading athletes. Over the past few years, sport sponsorships have been popular amongst brokers as they are an enticing way to raise brand awareness in the FX, CFDs, and binary options industries.
The industry has already seen a multitude of marketing deals signed with football, rugby, and racing teams in Europe. The method has proven to be highly successful, as the sponsorships cut through the clutter and expose the brand to far more people than a publication or even above the line advertising ever could.

Mr. Rush steps into a new lead role as CIBfx’s partner, having become one of the most notable faces in football over his career. The former Liverpool FC player is the all-time leading goal scorer, having scored a total of 346 goals in all competitions during his two stints with the club. His prowess has also extended to the international level – he made no less than seventy-three appearances for the Wales national team.
CIBfx’s Chief Executive Officer, Moshe Rubinstein, commented: “The extraordinary successes of Ian’s career are due to his natural eye for goal, his winning mentality, and ambition to be the best. In terms of execution, arguably nobody was better than Ian. These are all qualities that have synergy with our own business model at CIBfx.com. We are proud to have him as our official Partner.”
“Trading with CIBFX is simple, secure and accurate, and delivers superior customer service. I am delighted to be involved with them,” explained Mr. Rush.
Mr. Rush steps into his new partnership with CIBfx with immediate effect – the agreement was brokered by Sports Media Gaming Ltd. Last month, Blackwell Global also tapped the Liverpool football well, inking a sponsorship deal with Everton Football Club in its first ever branding pact.
