The calendar continues to turn towards November, with all the focus shifting to the 2018 London Summit. Hosted by Finance Magnates for the seventh consecutive year, the event will take place at Old Billingsgate in downtown London on November 13-14.
Fresh off its largest installment ever last year, the 2018 London Summit stands to be even bigger, bridging the retail and institutional space during one massive event. The summit represents the gathering of the most influential people in the trading industry, allowing attendees to network, learn, and discuss leading issues.
Every year of the summit has been a unique experience, with 2018 looking to be no exception. This year’s summit includes a packed slate of distinguished speakers, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. Last year saw over 2,000 attendees gather in London to discuss the most pertinent issues from across the retail and institutional space.
What people are saying about the London Summit
Marilena Iacovou
The feedback has been extraordinarily positive for the London Summit in years past, with in-depth panels and discussions on offer for individuals from all areas of focus. “The London Summit is always a very exciting time of the year for Tickmill as it offers us the opportunity to get together with industry peers and get an insight on all the latest developments on the institutional level," explained Marilena Iacovou, CMO at Tickmill Group.
Indeed, "This is the second time I have visited the London Summit and the growth of its institutional side has been impressive. Meeting delegates from the buy-side, e-commerce, and cutting-edge fintech startups was valuable, and the atmosphere is quite unlike any other industry event in the City. Maintaining a high-level conference of such magnitude is challenging, however Finance Magnates seems to be on the right track,” noted Marc Zaffran, Global Head of FX & EM Sales at Société Générale Global Markets.
What is in store for attendees
The London Summit will also seek to address the sweeping changes in the retail brokerage space. Already this year, brokers have had to grapple with MiFID II, ESMA and FCA edicts, and bans for crypto advertising via Twitter, Google, and Facebook.
This includes a detailed focus on FX, CFDs, and the cryptocurrencies space. These topics will be on full display across a two-day slate of panels, workshops, and other seminars. The 2018 London Summit will also be kicked off by its annual Networking Blitz, representing a gathering of the industry’s biggest players, executives, and CEOs under one roof.
