Sophie Squillacioti, a veteran of Asia's foreign exchange and contracts for difference markets, has been appointed Head of Asia at fintech company UEXO Global, she announced today (Monday).
Sophie Squillacioti Joins UEXO Global as Head of Asia
Squillacioti brings nearly 20 years of experience building teams and operations across Asian markets for major retail brokers.
"This industry has evolved so dramatically over the last two decades it's easy to overcomplicate what is fundamentally a business driven by relationships," Squillacioti wrote in her announcement. "It's time to step back, evaluate and take it all back to basics."
Squillacioti left her position as Head of China and Advisor to the Chairman at MultiBank Group in August 2025 after leading the Dubai-based broker's reentry into Chinese markets. During her tenure from 2024 to August 2025, she oversaw 16 team members across China, the UAE, and Taiwan while developing multilingual operations teams in Thailand and China.
Her experience in the Asian market, however, goes much further.
Track Record Spans Major Brokers Across Two Decades
Squillacioti's career includes senior roles at several prominent FX and CFD brokers targeting Asian markets. At INFINOX Global from 2022 to 2023, she directed operations for seven regional offices while managing over 120 employees across the continent.
Her earlier positions include heading Asian operations at BDSwiss, where she managed teams across Shanghai, Shandong, and Taipei, and establishing BlackBull Markets' Shanghai office from 2019 to 2021, including securing a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise license.
Squillacioti spent nine years at what became Gain Capital Stonex, starting as Vice President and Head of China at IFX Markets in 2005. She eventually served as Managing Director and Head of APAC sales, overseeing 95 sales professionals across China, Singapore, and Australia while holding a seat on City Index Holding's Board of Directors.
Asian Market Experience Spans Multiple Jurisdictions
Her experience covers regulatory compliance and team building across key Asian financial centers. At Alpha Capital Markets Group from 2016 to 2018, she directed a team of over 40 people handling sales, finance, marketing , and compliance for the Shanghai representative office.
UEXO Global has not disclosed specific details about its Asian expansion plans or Squillacioti's immediate priorities in her new role.
