ING, the Dutch multinational financial services and banking giant, has named Brunon Bartkiewicz as its newest Chief Innovation Officer, adding to an already highly decorated career for the veteran executive.

Mr. Bartkiewicz has carved out a role across ING Group as a versatile specialist in previous and current roles, such as CEO in the bank’s Polish division and General Manager. ING deals with a variety of financial services and management across multiple asset classes including corporate finance, retail banking and FX.

ING Veteran Now Faces New Innovative Challenges

Following a lengthy career spanning over two decades with ING, Mr. Bartkiewicz has risen through the ranks to become General Manager and CEO in the European realm. In his newest role however, Mr. Bartkiewicz will be responsible for driving ING's strategic innovation agenda amid an increasing competitive industry, developing and implementing new ideas and utilizing a cascade of new technologies.

According to Ralph Hamers, CEO, ING Group, in a recent statement on the appointment, "Brunon is one of the architects of the ING Direct banking model and has a track record in building and transforming banks. I am convinced he will drive our strategic innovation agenda and think beyond traditional banking to serve changing customer needs."
