Global Prime Partners (GPP) has appointed Sean Capstick as its newest Head of Prime Brokerage, who joins the group with immediate effect, according to a GPP statement.
Mr. Capstick joins GPP from RWC Partners, having served as a member of the management committee and also Head of New Markets since early 2013. Moreover, he has served in a number of senior level roles including European Head of Prime Brokerage at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), with additional stops at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs.
According to Julian Parker, Chief Executive of Global Prime Partners, in a recent statement on the appointment: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Sean’s experience to support our clients and to lead this critical part of our business.”

“As the Basel III constraints continue to limit the prime brokerage capabilities of the larger banks, demand for our services is growing rapidly and we are fast becoming the ‘go to’ Prime Broker for smaller Hedge Funds,” he noted.
“Global Prime Partners has a growing reputation as the markets alternative to the bulge bracket prime brokers. The firm is stepping in to help hedge funds as the banks pull out. Together with the exciting opportunities our new office in Hong Kong is already generating, I look forward to substantially growing our international client base,” added Mr. Capstick in an accompanying statement.
Earlier this month, GPP added Tom Wooders as its Head of Sales, Broker-Dealers and Intermediaries. Since joining GPP, Mr. Wooders has been responsible for fostering the group’s global clearing and custody services. He joined GPP with nearly two decades of experience in the financial services and sales realm, having held senior level roles at JP Morgan, BNY Pershing, State Street, and Broadridge.
