FDRS Appoints Jennifer Mahony as Scheme Director, Succeeding Stuart Ayres

The Financial Dispute Resolution Service (FDRS) has announced that its Scheme Director Stuart Ayres will be parting ways with the resolution committee and FairWay Resolution Limited, instead opting to focus on his own private business constancy practice, according to an FDRS statement.

The FDRS is an independent dispute resolution scheme in New Zealand that is designed to help consumers and financial service providers to resolve disputes – the scheme is free for consumers to use and has helped bring transparency to the country’s financial markets.

Mr. Ayres’s departure snaps a five-year tenure with FDRS, having originally joined the group back in 2011. In his stead, the group will lean on Jennifer Mahony as its newest Scheme Director, who will be tasked with helping steer the committee, whilst pioneering new ideas and direction for the group.

Ms. Mahony steps into the role after a lengthy career in legal matters, having ascended to the position after working as an AMINZ Associate member, a mediator and adjudicator. She has also worked at FairWay for six years, and has been responsible for audits, complaints and dispute resolution processes. Despite the move and promotion, Ms. Mahony will continue to be supported by the existing Resolution Practitioners and Adjudicators, subject matter experts, and the FairWay Board.
