AIG Group Appoints Philip Fasano to Executive VP, CIO

American International Group (AIG) has named longtime financial services veteran, Philip Fasano, to the newly created role of Executive VP and Chief Information Officer (CIO), and is slated to join the group in October.

In his new role, Mr. Fasano will report to Peter D. Hancock, AIG’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fasano will be tasked with the oversight of the company's global information technology, which includes both reviewing and updating its technology systems and platforms, coupled with data management and security.

Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Fasano worked as Executive VP and CIO at Kaiser Permanente. In addition, he has also held several CIO roles at other leading financial services firms (Capital One Financial, JPMorgan Chase, and Deutsche Financial Services, among others) during a career that spans three decades.

According to Mr. Hancock in a recent statement on the appointment, "I am delighted to welcome Phil to AIG.
