BATS Global Markets Joins The Wilshire 5000 Index

The company has announced that it is now included in the key U.S. index.

BATS ranks as the second-largest stock exchange operator in the U.S. and operates the largest stock exchange and trade reporting facility in Europe.

Earlier this month, Finance Magnates published the first earnings report of BATS as a publicly traded company which became a record for the company. At a time when global markets have experienced uncertainty and a number of companies in the financial industry have faced a challenging environment, BATS Global Markets reported that the company’s adjusted earnings grew 77 per cent year-on-year.

Wilshire Associates is a global, independent investment consulting and services firm, providing consulting services, analytics solutions and customised investment products to plan sponsors, investment managers and financial intermediaries.

The Wilshire 5000, the original pure and complete measure of the U.S. stock market, was developed in 1974 by Dennis Tito, Chairman and CEO of Wilshire Associates. It is widely considered to be one of the most effective ways to track the broad U.S. equities market and estimate market value changes.
