smartTrade Technologies moved its trading
infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) as part of a broader push to
modernize operations and support hybrid cloud deployment.
According to the company, the move is part of a new
internal initiative called MetaCloud, aimed at improving flexibility,

MetaCloud project will allow it to deliver solutions across both public and
private cloud environments. The company plans to use AWS to streamline deployment,
integrate new analytics tools, and expand its use of AI across front-office
workflows.
Hybrid Cloud and AI Integration
The MetaCloud project is being led by smartTrade’s
internal research group, the Advanced Innovation Lab. According to the company, the AWS-backed platform will
support automated deployment processes and allow for integration of generative
AI tools, including large language models.
smartTrade says this infrastructure shift enables
financial institutions using its services to gain faster access to trading data
insights and to automate certain client-facing workflows.

“Leveraging the advanced infrastructure and services
of AWS allows us to accelerate our innovation roadmap, particularly with
advancements like our AI smart Copilot and advanced analytics services.”
The company has adopted a number of AWS services,
including Amazon EC2 within Kubernetes (EKS), Amazon Aurora, and AWS Direct
Connect. According to the company, full system environments can now be
provisioned in less than 15 minutes, reducing development bottlenecks.
AWS Infrastructure at the Core
AWS Managing Director for Financial Services, Scott
Mullins, said the partnership “enables the delivery of next-generation
solutions” by giving smartTrade access to a more scalable and modern
infrastructure.
This shift marks a significant departure from the traditional infrastructure used by many legacy trading technology vendors. By
leaning into a hybrid cloud model, smartTrade joins a growing list of financial
technology firms seeking to move away from on-premise systems in favor of more
flexible architectures.
The company has not disclosed the financial terms of its
partnership with AWS. However, the collaboration aligns with a broader trend of
financial infrastructure providers increasingly relying on public cloud
partners to support their digital transformation goals.
