Scope Markets, the retail FX and CFDs brokerage brand of Rostro Group, has launched Scope Copy, a copy trading service for MetaTrader 5.
The move comes as Scope Markets continues to expand its use of brokerage technology. Last month, the broker said “technology was increasingly becoming part of the client relationship” rather than only an operational tool.
Scope Copy follows a beta phase during which clients replicated more than 500,000 trades. More than 130 strategy providers are available at launch.
Powered by PLUGIT's YOONIT copy trading module, the service allows clients to select providers and set their own risk parameters. Trades are then replicated automatically in linked Scope Markets accounts, with execution taking milliseconds.
Clients can adjust copied trade sizes using a multiplier, fixed volume or equity proportion, while also setting maximum lot limits.
Strategy Providers Can Charge up to 50%
Strategy providers can set performance fees ranging from 10% to 50%.
John Murphy, Managing Director of Scope Markets, said the upper limit was higher than that commonly offered by copy trading platforms. He said consistently profitable traders "should be compensated as such."

Clients do not pay fees in advance or on losing trades. Under the high-water mark structure, providers must also recover previous losses before earning performance fees again.
"If a provider charges at the top of the band, their performance will have to justify it," Murphy said.
Eligible clients can also register as strategy providers and make their strategies available publicly or privately.
Clients Can Copy Trades in Reverse
Scope Copy also allows clients to take the opposite side of a provider's trades. A provider's buy order, for example, can automatically become a sell order in the client's account.
Murphy said feedback from the beta phase contributed to the feature. Across more than half a million trades, "experienced clients repeatedly told us they wanted to trade against strategies they disagreed with."
"That behaviour is why inverse copying exists," he added.
Maria Pittashi, General Manager of PLUGIT, said the company's copy trading infrastructure supports more than 100 brokers worldwide. She said Scope Markets had added inverse copying and its own performance-fee structure to the technology.
