Webull is launching crypto trading services in Canada through Coinbase’s Crypto-as-a-Service platform, extending a partnership the brokerage group has already used in other international markets.

The arrangement gives Webull Canada clients access to digital asset trading while Coinbase provides the core crypto infrastructure, including custody and trading services.

Canada Joins Webull’s Crypto Relaunch

The Canadian launch follows Webull’s decision to reintroduce crypto trading after stepping back from digital assets in 2023.

In regulatory filings, Webull said it ceased offering access to digital asset trading through its app in July 2023 after spinning off Webull Pay LLC and its digital assets business into a separate entity outside the Webull Corporation group.

The company began rebuilding that offering in 2025. In Brazil, Webull introduced crypto trading through a model in which Coinbase handles settlement, execution and custody.

In Australia, the company launched crypto services with Coinbase Prime providing trading infrastructure, custody and market data. Canada now follows that blueprint.

Regulated Entity, Separate Protections

Webull enters the Canadian market amid growing cryptocurrency adoption. According to a recent survey by the Ontario Securities Commission, 25% of respondents reported having some crypto, up from 10% in 2023.

TD Securities data showed Canadian crypto ETFs attracted C$332 million in net inflows during the first half of 2025, led by Solana and XRP products.

In June, Webull Canada Crypto Limited was admitted as a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organisation (CIRO). In addition to the platform, it received authorisation from the Canadian Securities Administrators.

The CSA’s public list separately includes Coinbase Canada Inc. and Payward Canada Inc., the operator of Kraken, showing that Webull is entering a market where several crypto platforms already operate under Canadian registration or exemptive-relief arrangements.

Webull’s Canadian disclosures include an important limitation for clients. Webull Securities (Canada) Limited and Webull Canada Crypto Limited are separate entities under common ownership, and CIRO and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) regulate both.

However, Webull states that CIPF does not cover crypto assets.
