CMC Markets, an Online Trading services provider, announced that it has partnered with The Blues, a professional Rugby Union team, in New Zealand. The financial firm has signed a sponsorship deal for the 2021 and 2022 Sky Super Rugby seasons.

According to the official announcement, the logo of CMC Markets will appear on the players’ shorts, as well as other official team apparel and signage at Eden Park.

The recent announcement is another addition to the global sports sponsorship portfolio of CMC Markets. Finance Magnates earlier reported about a sponsorship deal between CMC Markets and one of the leading cricket teams in Australia's Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers.

Commenting on the recent announcement, Chris Smith, General Manager at CMC Markets New Zealand, said: “Since launching our office in New Zealand 15 years ago, CMC Markets has built a history of supporting talented and driven Kiwis in the local community, which is why it feels like a natural fit to be stepping on board as part of The Blues family this year. The Blues are a team I’ve watched since I was a child and really what better way to mark our anniversary than by forging a partnership with one of New Zealand’s leading sports teams. We’re looking forward to seeing The Blues success on and off the field.”

The sponsorship deals between global sports teams and leading financial brokers have increased in recent months. Sports sponsorship deals help brokers in global expansion and brand awareness. The Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa competition will start on 27 February with The Blues battling it out against the Hurricanes in Wellington.

“CMC Markets have international roots but a local presence in New Zealand. Their involvement in the community and support of charities like Variety really appealed to us and reinforced the brand fit and potential partnership longevity,” Blues CEO, Andrew Hore, said in the official announcement.
