CMC Markets Connect, the rebranded institutional division of CMC Markets, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Johan Koo as an Institutional Sales Manager. Based in Sydney, he will focus on the business of the Asia-Pacific region.

At the new company, his responsibilities will be to augment the team’s sales of liquidity solutions and the new Spot FX product. These products are about to be released in the APAC region imminently.

Experienced in the Financial Industry

In addition, Koo is an expert in the financial services industry with more than seven years of experience. He spent most of his professional career with brokerage firms and had tenures at major institutions.

Before joining CMC, he was with ACY Securities for more than a year. There, he was an Institutional Business Manager, handling global derivatives and capital markets. Additionally, he spent two years with easyMarkets, another ASIC -regulated broker, and parted from the company as the Head of Trading.

Koo started his career at HSBC as a Sales Consultant in January 2015 and later moved to FIRMA Foreign Exchange to take the role of a Senior Corporate Trader, spending a year there.

“We’re delighted to welcome Johan to the team,” said Andrew Wood, the Head of Institutional Sales at CMC Markets Connect. “Demand for our liquidity and trading services amongst institutional customers is growing rapidly now, so I’m confident that Johan’s appointment will help us manage this growing flow of business.”

“The year ahead is set to be an exciting one for the team, given our own product innovation and also the hope that we’ll soon be back to meeting clients and doing business face-to-face.”
