  • Institutional research and analytics firm State Street has appointed ex-Moody's executive Dr. Roger Stein as Chief Analytics Officer for State Street's Global Exchange business unit.

State Street Corporation announced late last week that it has appointed Roger M. Stein as Chief Analytics Officer for State Street Global Exchange.

The Global Exchange arm of the business is comprised of aspects of State Street’s research, advisory and analytics business units, as well as Currenex, Global Link and derivatives clearing.

Dr. Stein, who brings to the role over 20 years of experience in finance and analytics, will be based in New York and will report to Global Exchange Executive VP Jeff Conway.

Prior to assuming his senior executive position at State Street, Dr. Stein held a number of senior positions at Moody's including president of Moody's Research Labs (MRL), co-head of Research at Moody's KMV, managing director of the managed funds group at Moody's Investors Service and managing director of research and academic relations globally.

Dr. Stein also holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management and is a Research Affiliate at the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering.

Upon announcing Dr. Stein’s appointment, Mr. Conway welcomed him to his new role: “Roger has an impressive reputation and an acute ability to merge quantitative research and data to develop products that address key issues facing institutional investors” he said.
