Wells is an experienced FX industry leader who previously worked at LSEG for nearly a decade.
He has also worked for notable industry brands, including Citi.
LSEG FX, the foreign exchange division of the London
Stock Exchange Group (LON: LSEG), appointed Gavin Wells as its new Chief
Operating Officer (COO). Wells, an industry veteran with extensive experience
in FX markets, rejoins LSEG when the company is boosting its FX services and
trading platforms.
An Experienced Industry Executive
Wells first joined LSEG in 2008 and spent nearly a
decade leading post-trade businesses such as ForexClear and CDSClear. “I am starting a new position as COO FX at LSEG
(London Stock Exchange Group), working with an excellent group of people in one
of the market's best businesses,” Wells mentioned in a post on LinkedIn.
Following his tenure at LSEG, he moved to Deutsche
Börse's 360T, where he contributed to the growth of its institutional FX
division from 2020 to 2023. Last summer, he rejoined LSEG on a contract basis to
oversee the transformation of its FX business, a role that has now evolved into
a permanent leadership position.

LSEG FX Targets Expansion with New Appointments
LSEG FX operates a broad range of FX services,
including electronic trading venues such as FXall, FX Matching, PriceStream,
NDF Matching, MTF, and SEF. The division also provides FX reporting, compliance,
clearing services, and trading workflow solutions. With Wells at the helm as
COO, the company is expected to focus on optimizing these services to meet
evolving market demands.
Last year, LSEG FX made another change in its
leadership. After spending five years with LSEG's Refinitiv, Adam Collins moved to the Capital Markets division of LSEG FX last year to serve as the Head of
Sales. According to the company's announcement, its main Focus is on the
foreign exchange market.
Prior to joining LSEG FX, Collins had served with
Refinitiv since 2019 as the Head of Sales. Before that, he gained
experience at Bloomberg LP, initially as the eFX Bank Liquidity Relationship
Manager.
