Broadridge Adds Crypto and ETD Capabilities with Acquisition

Fintech firm Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. announced this Tuesday that it had added cryptocurrency and Exchange -traded derivatives capabilities through the acquisition of Shadow Financial Systems, Inc.

Shadow Financial Systems is a provider of Multi-Asset class post-trade solutions for the capital markets industry. By acquiring the company, Broadridge will be able to build upon its current post-trade processing capabilities by expanding it to include a market-ready solution for exchanges, interdealer brokers, and proprietary trading firms.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, except for the fact that Alantra acted as an exclusive financial and strategic advisor to Shadow Financial Systems, Inc. Broadridge is a $4 billion global Fintech leader and a part of the S&P 500 Index.

Recent Broadridge acquisitions

Broadridge has been on an acquisition spree of late. As Finance Magnates reported, the company announced its acquisition of RPM Technologies, a Toronto-based provider of enterprise wealth management software solutions and services, back in June.

So far this year, the financial services giant has also acquired Dublin-based Rockall, which provides collateral management and securities-based lending (SBL) to financial institutions, as well as a set of regulatory reporting technologies from PivotData, a data warehouse company and provider of regulatory technology solutions to the investment management industry, and its partner, Sol Hedge.
