An announcement made by one of the leading operators of exchanges in a variety of assets, BATS Global Markets, reveals a new senior executive hire. The company on-boarded Laura Morrison as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Exchange-Traded Products.
The move continues the push of BATS into the Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) business. The company led the way in March, holding 25.2% of the ETF market in the U.S. followed by the NYSE and Nasdaq with 20.9% and 14.9%.
Mrs Morrison brings to the company 20 years of experience as an industry leader at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Over the years, she served as NYSE’s Senior Vice President, Global Index and Exchange-Traded Products. She’s been leading the team which managed ETF listings and trading as well as the NYSE index business.
