The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has issued an update announcing that the technical issue experienced earlier today which resulted in the suspension of trading in 199 stocks, and prompted other exchanges to route trades to alternative locations, has been resolved.
In an earlier statement which appeared on the exchange’s website, NYSE reported that the problem had arisen in one trading unit which subsequently affected a list of symbols listed on the website. Trading in those symbols was then suspended and all open orders were cancelled.

The problem which had previously reported as resolved by the exchange was finally fixed as of 1:17 pm ET, just under three hours after it began. The NYSE’s update confirms that all open orders, including MOC and LOC orders, were cancelled. In order to participate in the closing auction, MOC and LOC orders in the impacted symbols will need to be re-submitted.
All systems are now operating as normal.
