MetaQuotes Software Corp., the developer of the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MT5 trading platforms, recently launched a new widget for an economic calendar. The announcement states that this feature will cater to the need for market analysis shared by clients and online trading companies alike.
MetaQuotes’ announcement states that the widget is available to embed both on the websites belonging to financial firms and on individual blogs. The service will offer up-to-date data regarding macroeconomic world events that may affect the volatility in the financial markets.

Clients are able to customize certain aspects of the economic calendar. They may set the height and width of the widget to their specific requirements, and they can choose a default period of events to show up on their websites. For example, they may select the current day or week to display once a customer reaches the feature. Clients will be to see how the widget will look on their website before copying the generated code and inserting it into a web page.
Currently, the available information is economic events and news coming from the US, the EU and Japan. Events from the UK are said to be coming soon. In addition, the feature will soon replace the economic calendar used on the MT5 online trading platform, so the information will be readily available to clients while opening positions. Clients will further be able to access the data from the strategy tester and the MQL5 robots.
Earlier this month, Finance Magnates covered MetaQuotes’ launch of the new version of the MT5 trading platform mobile web portal, which comes equipped with 31 indicators.
