London-based online trading company Taurex Limited, formerly known as Zenfinex Limited, returned to profit in 2025 after a loss-making year, with a sharp increase in turnover helping to improve its financial performance.

The company generated a profit of £148,561 for the year ended 31 December 2025, according to its latest profit and loss account. That compares with a loss of £1.71 million in 2024.

The latest results follow a period of rapid revenue growth at Taurex. Finance Magnates reported last year that the company's turnover more than doubled to £1.95 million in 2024, although it remained loss-making. Administrative expenses stood at £3.04 million that year.

In May, Taurex appointed Matthew Wright as Global CEO, returning him to the role four years after he stepped down. Wright had spent the previous year as a Non-Executive Director at the CFD broker. The company said the Board approached him to take over as CEO, with his return taking effect immediately.

Taurex Turnover Surges Nearly Threefold

The improvement in profitability was largely driven by the substantial increase in turnover.

Taurex reported £5.62 million in turnover, compared with £1.95 million a year earlier. The increase of almost £3.7 million means revenue was nearly three times the level recorded in 2024.

The stronger revenue performance also translated into a significant increase in gross profit.

Cost of sales increased from £619,405 to £959,809 during the year. However, the rise was considerably smaller than the increase in turnover.

As a result, gross profit reached £4.66 million, up from £1.33 million in 2024. This represented an increase of more than £3.3 million over the year.

Moves Into Profit Despite Rising Costs

Taurex also recorded higher administrative expenses. These rose from £3.04 million to £4.56 million, an increase of around £1.52 million.

Despite the higher administrative costs, the increase in gross profit was sufficient to move the company into operating profit.

Taurex recorded an operating profit of £100,557 in 2025, compared with an operating loss of £1.71 million in the previous year. The operating result therefore improved by approximately £1.8 million.

The company also received a larger contribution from interest receivable and similar income, which increased from £8,418 in 2024 to £15,050 in 2025.

After accounting for this income, Taurex reported a pre-tax profit of £115,607, compared with a pre-tax loss of £1.71 million a year earlier.

A tax credit further increased the final result. Taurex recorded a £32,954 tax credit for 2025, while no tax charge or credit was reported in the previous year.

After the tax credit, the company's profit for the financial year stood at £148,561, marking an improvement of roughly £1.85 million from the previous year.
