Rival Systems, a Chicago-based provider of trading and risk management solutions, added spot FX and FX forwards to its multi-asset trading system Rival One.

London's trading industry is coming home!

The new offering extends the platform’s product set, which already includes futures, options, equities and crypto, enabling professional traders to implement complex trading and risk management strategies.

FX Joins Existing Trading Infrastructure

Rival One brings OTC spot FX and forwards into the same workflow as its existing markets. The new instruments use common trading infrastructure, risk controls and APIs, with order management, real-time positions and market data available across supported products.

The platform connects to multiple FX brokers, allowing clients to use their preferred brokerage and liquidity providers. Post-trade exposure can be managed through Rival Risk, the company’s separate enterprise risk management platform, which already supports FX alongside equities, futures and other products.

Rival One is a fully hosted, cloud-based order and execution management system. Its existing functionality includes smart order routing, basket trading, post-trade allocation and tools for trading spreads across asset classes and exchanges.

A Common Workflow for Professional Trading Desks

The platform targets professional traders running systematic and discretionary strategies. Its allocation tools also support asset managers, commodity trading advisers and other firms managing multiple accounts.

For desks trading both exchange-traded and OTC instruments, the expansion brings currency execution into their existing trading environment.

“Rival One has always been about bringing different markets together in one trading environment,” said Rob D’Arco, CEO of Rival Systems. “Adding spot FX and forwards expands that capability even further. Our clients can now trade across six major asset classes without having to move between different systems.”

Partners can also use Rival’s order management system to integrate multi-asset trading into their proprietary platforms, extending access beyond Rival One’s own interface.

TT and FlexFX Offer Broader FX Workflows

Trading Technologies published FX coverage includes non-deliverable forwards and swaps in addition to spot and forwards. It combines OTC FX with futures and precious metals, offering streaming execution, requests for quotes and requests for streams.

FlexFX focuses on broker-neutral liquidity aggregation and execution, combining prices from banks, non-bank providers and electronic communication networks. It supports broker algorithms, voice transactions and execution analytics.

Dealer tools also let traders negotiate forward points and convert voice trades into electronic records.

Rival’s announcement establishes support for spot and forwards through multiple brokers, but does not name those connections or specify the currency pairs and forward tenors available.
