Spotware, the company behind the trading platform cTrader, has introduced free prop trial accounts for proprietary trading firms. The new account type provides time-limited demo access for competitions and lead conversion. The functionality is now available to all prop firms using cTrader.

Several firms, including FTMO, Instant Funding, and Vision Trade, have already adopted the new accounts. They use them to run competitions and trials for thousands of traders globally. Early feedback suggests the accounts can support recruitment and lead conversion while maintaining a standard trading experience.

cTrader Adds Time-Limited Prop Trial Accounts

Free prop trial accounts allow firms to run competitions, trials, and recruitment processes in a controlled demo environment. The accounts carry a “FREE” flag for transparency and expire automatically after the trial period. This helps firms maintain clean sales pipelines and comply with internal policies.

Demo Accounts Facilitate Recruitment, Lead Conversion

“Free prop trial accounts give prop firms a powerful new way to showcase their trading environment and lower the entry barrier for prospective traders,” Ilia Iarovitcyn, Chief Executive Officer, at Spotware commented on the launch.

Prop firms often use free trials and competitions to engage traders and identify potential leads . Spotware’s new account type allows firms to implement this model quickly and at scale, with their own branding and built-in reporting.

cTrader 5.4 Adds Python, Chart Upgrades

Spotware has released version 5.4. The update adds native Python support for creating cBots, indicators, and plugins, complementing existing C# functionality. Expanded APIs allow custom plugin settings, dashboards, and deeper algorithmic integration.

Linux users can run cTrader via a supported Docker image. Mobile WebView plugins enable third-party tool integration. Charting improvements include a new time axis, preset date ranges, and full-screen options. A risk-reward tool is now available for Mac users, along with enhanced Mac APIs.
