Equinix, a Nasdaq-listed digital infrastructure company, and Colt Technology Services have recently confirmed the extension of their long-standing partnership to support digital transformation in France.

The details shared by Colt noted that the companies have expanded the partnership through the launch of a new Colt point of presence (PoP) in Equinix’s BX1 data center in Bordeaux. The new presence will allow enterprise customers to take advantage of a wide range of services.

Mark Hollman, the VP of Partner Development and Success of Colt Technology Services, said: “Building on our already strong relationship with Equinix, this latest point of presence in Bordeaux allows us to support even more cloud transformations and reflects our commitment to investing so that we can continue to meet our customers’ needs for enhanced connectivity. As well as benefiting from access to our Colt IQ Network, which connects to Metropolitan Area Networks across Europe, Equinix’s BX1 facility also provides a landing hub for the new AMITIE submarine cable linking the US, France and the UK, which opens up a range of possibilities for customers.”

In April 2022, Equinix completed the $320 million acquisition of MainOne to expand its presence in Africa. The company recently announced the acquisition of data centers in Chile and Peru.

Connectivity

Orla Ni Chorcora, the Vice President for Channel in EMEA at Equinix, noted that the partnership extension will facilitate customers through secure and high-bandwidth connectivity.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Colt to help businesses accelerate innovation by harnessing the full potential of the cloud. With this new point of presence in Bordeaux, customers will benefit from secure and high-bandwidth connectivity to our global digital business ecosystem, with access to an expanded data network and cloud portfolio. This further supports the growth of the local digital economy and digital transformation strategies,” Chorcora said.
