Beattie will join XTX's board as Chairman and Non-Executive Director at the end of the month.
Bloomberg
XTX Markets, a leading non-bank Liquidity provider in the Forex industry, has announced the latest addition to its personnel - investment banking specialist Niki Beattie.
Ms. Beattie joins XTX Markets’ board after a lengthy career in the capital markets space, during which she has focused on market structure and held several leading consultancy roles. She will step into the role of Non-Executive Director and Chairman on October 1, 2017.
Alex Gerko and Zar Amrolia, co-CEO’s of XTX Markets, commented: “We are delighted to have Niki join the team. She has a deep experience and domain knowledge in trading technology, market structure, regulations and governance. We look forward to her bringing this wealth of experience to XTX Markets as we transition to a global company.”
Veteran appointment
Ms. Beattie presently serves on a number of different boards around the financial services industry, specifically financial markets institutions and infrastructure providers. Her career has seen her work on projects with industry-leading trading venues, hedge funds, asset managers, and government institutions. Her industry prowess will be an asset for XTX Markets.
She founded Market Structure Partners back in 2008, which operates as an independent strategic consultancy. She also worked at Merrill Lynch for over fourteen years as a managing director, focusing on the finance and the equities sector, according to information made public on her Linkedin profile.
Niki Beattie
Despite the new role at XTX Markets, she will retain her membership on the Regulatory Decisions Committee at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and will continue to serve as a member of the Secondary Markets Advisory Committee at the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA).
“I’m delighted to be joining XTX Markets. As a firm at the forefront of the technological evolution of liquidity provision, I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the team and helping drive the company forward as we grow geographically and across asset classes,” added Ms. Beattie.
The move is the latest senior appointment at XTX Markets since the addition of Eric Swanson as its Americas CEO back in May. Securing Mr. Swanson from Bats was a important move for the electronic market maker, as he has since assisted in the launch and operation of XTX’s US business.
