Trust Payments announced that it has selected Eleanor Sheppard as its new Group Head of Marketing and Communications, effective from February 2022.

In a press release recently shared with Finance Magnates, Eleanor Sheppard, a veteran marketing executive with more than thirty years of experience, has been named by Trust Payments, a financial technology firm, as its new Group Head of Marketing and Communications.

Sheppard has already started the new role as Group Head of Marketing and Communications. She will report to Jonathan O'Connor, the Group Chief Commercial Officer. The timing of her joining is when the organisation is expanding and going through some major growth, as this follows the acquisition of Wonderlane, the retail operations leader.

Glancing Back at Sheppard’s Vocation

Prior to the announcement, Sheppard served Leslie as its VP of Marketing for a short stint.

Earlier, she fulfilled the role of Advisory Consultant for Personalised Video Lab. From April 2020, she developed and launched a new UK subsidiary brand Personalised Video Lab, and a cloud-based personalised and Interactive customer engagement SaaS platform.

Before this at Global Payments, she took on responsibilities as the VP Marketing, Multinational Commerce. She was the marketing lead for the Multinational Commerce Marketing Team, leading the delivery of the Worldwide eCommerce, Omni channel and Multinational customer value proposition and segment strategies.

In December 2016, she joined Seqr/MeaWallet as its Chief Marketing Officer. During this time, she led the global marketing team delivering integrated marketing strategies for its B2C & B2B brands.

She also spent some time at Mastercard as its Head of Marketing EMEAA. For just over eighteen months, she led and implemented the B2B and B2B2C marketing strategy and plan for Mastercard, among other duties. She received a promotion from her earlier role as Global Products & B2B Marketing Manager.

Additionally, she served in a number of other roles outside of fintech , including Global Marketing Director for INIKA Cosmetics; Group Marketing Director & Acting MD of Worldchoice for The Travel Network Group; Head of Marketing - Direct Holidays for Thomas Cook Group; Marketing Consultant for John Mills Limited; and Head of Marketing for Ideal Shopping Direct.

Drive Revenue, Profitability, and Marketing Efficiency

Moreover, Sheppard will help the Trust Payments Group to drive revenue, profitability, and marketing efficiency across all its brands and take responsibility for Trust Payments' global marketing strategy and propel the group's ambitious growth objectives.

Commenting on the announcement, O'Connor said: "We are thrilled that Eleanor has agreed to join the Trust Payments Group at such a pivotal time. Her expertise will be a key asset to our ambitious plans for rapid growth and innovation across the Converged Commerce™ landscape. She will bring fresh perspectives and energy into our business, helping us to advance the group's position and drive broader awareness for future prosperity."

In other related news, Trust Payments will be the first customer to benefit from a partnership between Modulr, a UK payment service, and Ripple. Modulr earned the Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license, which allowed it to expand its services across Europe. Due to the license, Modulr can offer Single Payments Europe Area (SEPA) payments and e-money accounts for clients. Aside from standard payments, Modulr plans to offer banking capabilities to its clients across Europe. This includes physical and virtual card issuance.
