The FXPA Appoints Lisa Shemie from CBOE as Group Chair
- The association also announced a suite of changes to its Board.

The Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA) announced on Monday that it has added a number of new Board and Office members at its annual meeting which took place on February 5, 2019.
Effective from March 1, 2019, Lisa Shemie is now the group Chair. Shemie is the Associate General Counsel of Cboe Global Markets and Chief Legal Officer of Cboe FX and Cboe SEF.
Shemie originally joined the FXPA in March of last year, as Finance Magnates reported, initially joining as the association’s Chair of the Policy Committee. She succeeds Chip Lowry, the Senior Managing Director at State Street Global Markets, who has been the Chair for two terms.

Commenting on her new role, Shemie said: “Chip has been a fantastic Chair of the FXPA, and his energy, ideas and leadership have resulted in a stronger and more visible organization poised to be even more impactful going forward."
“I look forward to continuing to work with Chip during the years ahead and to leaning on him for his assistance and guidance as I take on this role.”
Serving as the Vice Chair is Jill Sigelbaum, the Head of FXall at Refinitiv. Sigelbaum also joined the FXPA at the same time as Shemie; however, Jill originally joined the organization as a board member. She is replacing Jonathon O’Donnell, the Investment Manager at CalPERS, who previously held the role of Vice Chair.
Taking on the role of Treasurer is Paul Houston, the Global Head of FX at CME Group. Houston joined CME Group in April of 2016. Prior to this, he was employed at Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Houston is taking on the role of Treasurer from Sean Tully, who has held this position for the past two terms. Tully is the Senior Managing Director at CME Group.
Finally, Jason Vitale, who is the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer FX & Head of Client Execution Execution Execution is the process during which a client submits an order to the brokerage, which consequently executes it resulting in an open position in a given asset. The execution of the order occurs only when it is filled. There is typically a time delay between the placement of the order and the execution which is called latency.In the retail FX space, reliable brokers always strive to deliver best execution to their clients in order to maintain a solid business relationship with them. In addition to the above-mentioned changes, the Washington-based association also added a number of new Board members. This includes Lauren Rosborough Watt, the Economics & Investment Manager at CalPERS; Mark Bruce, Head of FICC at Jump Trading; Laine Litman, Global Markets Group, Virtu Financial and Houston of CME.
