Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong Ltd has announced the hire of Woody Chan as its newest Head of Financial Markets

Standard Chartered logoStandard Chartered Bank Hong Kong Ltd has announced the hire of Woody Chan as its newest Head of Financial Markets for Hong Kong, who joins the group from China’s Citic Bank.

Standard Chartered Bank’s global operations has been active in the personnel front – last month the bank made several hires in its cash equities business, as well as a new head of its currency products.

Mr. Chan will be succeeding John Tan, who became the CEO for Standard Chartered’s Taiwan branch on April 1. In his new role as Head of Financial Markets, Mr. Chan will help manage FX, equities, commodities and other asset classes.

Furthermore, he will be reporting to May Tan, chief executive officer for Hong Kong, and Gene Kim, regional head of financial markets for Greater China and Northeast Asia. Mr. Chan joins Standard Chartered from China Citic Bank, where he held a number of senior level roles. He has also held positions at HSBC and Dah Sing Bank.
