Societe Generale recently shook up its London trading desk, opting to lean more on Newedge for its FX and OTC needs. Mr. Gionfriddo will be based out of New York, where he will work with Jamie Gavin, Head of Institutional OTC Clearing Sales. Moreover, he will be reporting to Adam Cohen, Global Head of Institutional Sales.
Prior to joining Societe Generale, Mr. Gionfriddo worked in a variety of senior level roles at CME Group (Senior Director on the OTC Products team) as well as UBS Securities Futures, and OTC Clearing Sales desk and managed the US Client Solutions team.
According to Mr. Cohen in a recent statement on the appointment, “As the industry continues to shift and markets become more transparent, it is incumbent on service providers to enhance their OTC Clearing capabilities to remain relevant to clients’ needs. The knowledge and experience Nick brings positions our firm well to add value and offer clients a unique perspective on the issues they face and the growing choice of products and services on offer.”
