Citigroup Inc appointed James Boyle as its Global Head of Equity Derivatives, replacing the outgoing Simon Yates who left for New York hedge fund, Two Sigma Investments LLC, earlier this month.

Citi has had a number of recent executive moves as of late across a pantheon of divisions worldwide, including appointments and departures of its Global FX Chief, Head of Prime Brokerage, and Head of Distressed Debt. Furthermore, back in May, Citi’s Global Head of Equities Trading, Mike Pringle, also parted ways with the group for a hedge fund.

Lengthy Tenure in Equities

Mr. Boyle has an impressive resume of experience in equity trading, having been with Citi since 2012 when he was named the Managing Director, Head of Equity Trading Pan Asia. Prior to this, he also served as Managing Director of Citadel Investment Group and a thirteen-year tenure as Managing Director of Merrill Lynch. In his new role as Global Head of Equity Derivatives, Mr. Boyle will remain based in Hong Kong, and is slated to relocate to New York in 2015.
