During his time at CIBC World Markets, Mr. Allan worked as its executive director based out of London, with regular secondments to Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Toronto. He played a pivotal role in the group’s desk management, including compliance, regulation issues, and monitoring, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
The appointment is the first at BNY Mellon since the promotion of John Weir as the head of its freshly launched Application Platform and Services Group (APSG), a diverse unit of the company’s Client Technology Solutions organization, earlier this year. Mr. Weir has since focused on the enabling and development of technologies in a bid to help augment the productivity of application developers, namely the company’s new NEXEN digital platform.
