BGC Partners Adds Michael Morris as its Head of Sales, FENICS

Morris joins BGC Partners from Bloomberg as its Head of Sales - Americas.

BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP), a global brokerage company specializing in financial and real estate markets, has appointed Michael Morris as the newest member of its FENICS Market Data who joins as its Head of Sales for the Americas with immediate effect, according to a BGC statement.

BGC’s FENICS solutions support all aspects of foreign exchange (FX) option activity from pricing, automated price distribution, trading, risk management and post trade processing (STP, trade reporting, etc). In his new role, Mr. Morris will be based out of New York, where he will report to Elliott Hann, Global Head of Sales at FENICS Market Data.

He joins BGC Partners from Bloomberg L.P., having previously served as its Global Head of Data Acquisition. He worked at Bloomberg for over a decade, holding other senior roles such as Data Acquisition Sales Manager for Asia-Pacific (APAC) as well as the Americas, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.

According to Mr. Hann, in a recent statement on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Mike to the team. He brings to BGC Partners a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership from his 20 years with Bloomberg. Mike’s experience of working with a global vendor will be invaluable, as the FENICS Market Data business continues to grow and expand into new asset classes and market segments.”
