Barclays, a London based investment bank and financial service firm, has hired Asita Anche as its new Head of Cross-Asset Quantitative Trading. Anche worked as a trader at Goldman Sachs for nearly seven years, from July 2010.
Anche will assume her new position with Barclays in July, said a source close to the matter. The financial service company has commented that its selective hiring process is all part of the investment bank’s endeavors to enhance revenues. This push is being lead by Tim Thorsby, the new head of Barclays International, which includes the investment bank.

Asita Anche, who has yet to announce her career move on her LinkedIn page, has held a few executive positions such as Managing Director at High Frequency Trading between 2009 and 2010. Including this role, she had worked for this company for six years. Anche has a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied between 2002 and 2004.
In addition to Anche’s hiring, Barclays recently hired Chris Leonard, who is the founder of hedge fund Arcem Capital, as the leader of U.S. interest rate trading.
In further Barclays news, employee Christopher Ashton was recently blacklisted for life by the U.S. Federal Reserve for his part in the chatroom “the Cartel”, where bank traders allegedly colluded to manipulate forex related rates. The fine against him was set at $1.2 million.
