ANZ On-Boards Sanjay Mathur as its Chief Economist for Southeast Asia and India

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has announced its latest senior appointment, on-boarding Sanjay Mathur as its newest Chief Economist for Southeast Asia and India, according to a group statement.

In his new role Mr. Mathur will be based out of Singapore. In this capacity he will be reporting to Khoon Goh, ANZ’s Head of Asia Research. His mandate will be to provide macroeconomic analysis and insight on the aforementioned Asian markets.

According to Mr. Goh in a recent statement on the appointment: "Sanjay’s extensive economic experience and deep knowledge of both Southeast Asia and India markets will be highly valued by our clients during a period of significant reform within the region.”
The appointment is the first of the New Year at ANZ, and the latest since the promotion of Peter Chan back in December, when he succeeded Terry King as the CEO of ANZ’s Taiwan.
