Blanco Appoints New CEO, Raises €3M for Further Expansion in Europe

Blanco, a technology developer for asset managers, has announced today that it has raised more than €3 million in a new investment round from new industry experts and existing investors like Volta Ventures, KBC Start it Fund among others.

Blanco plans to use the fresh funding to strengthen its current market leadership position in the Netherlands, to further expand its market share in Belgium and implement its first clients in Germany.

Besides the funding round , Bernadette Wijnings, a Co-Founder of Blanco, handed over her Co-CEO role to Chief Operating Officer, Johan Verschelden. While serving as Chief Operating Officer, Verschelden was responsible for all operational activities. He will now succeed Wijnings, who in her role as Co-CEO focused on the internal organization (customer service, HR, development and operations) and investors. Meanwhile, Joost Walgemoed, another Co-Founder of Blanco, will remain in her role of Co-CEO, with a focus on commerce.

Verschelden commented on his appointment: “Blanco is a fantastic company with an incredibly motivated and professional team. I am honored to take on the Co-CEO role and further develop our market leadership together with this group of people. Now that Blanco has outgrown the start-up phase, we will focus on further professionalizing and improving our services to the 150+ clients we currently serve. In addition, growth will continue unabated as we further expand our market position.”
